CREAMARE’s training and capacity-building activities took place from 12th to 16th June 2023.
From 12th to 16th June 2023, CREAMARE’s training and capacity-building activities took place at the Tremiti Islands in Apulia, Italy.
The first underwater photogrammetry course addressed to cultural professionals was organized by the Italian National Superintendence for Underwater Cultural Heritage in collaboration with Marlin Tremiti Scuba-diving Centre.
Professors from 3D Research combined classroom lectures on digital technologies for Underwater Cultural Heritage enhancement and documentation with diving practice on the wreck ruins of the Steamship Lombardo that sank in 1864.
The famous wreck will be one of the scenarios in CREAMARE serious game, so the staff of the company 3D Research and the Italian National Superintendence for Underwater Cultural Heritage collaborated to create its 3D model.
In addition, during these days a crew from Euronews with Denis Loctier visited the CREAMARE team to document the progress of the project.
During this period of residency, the CREAMARE working group succeeded in bringing together cultural institutions, scientific and research organizations, creative professionals, and technology experts to realize a transnational and cross-sectoral collaboration.
Stay tuned for further updates!
