CREAMARE: THE GAME to be showcased at Digital Heritage 2025 in Siena

On Wednesday, September 10th, CREAMARE: The Game will be featured in the 4th edition of the Digital Heritage International Congress, the global leading event on digital technology for documenting, preserving and sharing cultural heritage.
The congress will be held at the San Niccolò Palace, in the heart of the city of Siena – one of the most iconic historical sites in Europe – and is dedicated to sharing new ideas and perspectives on enhancing and improving access to Cultural Heritage through digital innovation.
The programme offers a wide range of activities, including thematic sessions and multidisciplinary contributions, workshops, roundtables, and networking opportunities among communities and professionals.
During the session “Game Design Methods and Applications”, starting at 2:30 p.m., the main goals of the CREAMARE Project will be highlighted:
- preserving the Underwater Cultural Heritage
- addressing the threats to the ocean, such as pollution and climate change
- raising awareness about our cultural identity and the importance of protecting marine ecosystems.
Since Underwater Cultural Heritage (UCH) remains one of the most under-communicated aspects of European heritage, CREAMARE aims to reduce this lack of visibility by leveraging digital technologies and fostering collaboration between the cultural and creative sectors.
In addition, participants will have the opportunity to play CREAMARE: The Game during a live test session. This serious game offers a unique opportunity to explore 3D digital replicas of nine real UCH sites in the Mediterranean. It incorporates a compelling narrative that guides players through a first-person adventure, tackling environmental challenges and solving puzzles related to underwater heritage.
