CREAMARE Featured at the European Cooperation Projects Information Day in Rome

CREAMARE was presented at the European Cooperation Projects Information Day in Rome as a model of Creative Cooperation that combines digital innovation, virtual reality, and education, to make Mediterranean archaeological treasures more interactive and accessible.
On February 18, 2025, the Desk Italia Europa Creativa, coordinated by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture, organized an Information Day dedicated to the upcoming 2025 European Cooperation Projects call. Held at Sala Spadolini in Rome, the event provided an important platform for cultural professionals and organizations to explore funding opportunities aimed at fostering cross-border collaboration, artistic mobility, and cultural innovation across Europe.
The program featured in-depth reflections on the evolving role of the cultural and creative sectors in response to digital transformation, climate change, collaborative practices, community engagement, and sustainable development. Participants were encouraged to consider how European cooperation projects can be designed to promote cultural and linguistic diversity, building strong and meaningful partnerships beyond national borders.
Among the highlighted projects, CREAMARE was presented by Fabio Bruno, President of 3D Research (CREAMARE Project Coordinator), during a session dedicated to significant projects co-funded by Creative Europe in recent years.
CREAMARE was presented as a model of Creative Cooperation, demonstrating how digital innovation and immersive technology can transform the way we engage with underwater cultural heritage. The project focuses on uncovering and digitally preserving submerged archaeological treasures in the Mediterranean, ranging from the Hellenistic period to World War II. By leveraging virtual reality and an educational video game, CREAMARE makes history more engaging, interactive, and accessible to a wide audience.
Through CREAMARE, Prof. Bruno illustrated how Creative Europe-funded initiatives can unite cultural heritage, digital technology, and education, creating a meaningful impact on society.
By combining innovation, culture, and sustainability, CREAMARE represents a forward-thinking approach to cultural preservation, demonstrating how European cooperation projects can enhance access to history through technology while fostering cross-border artistic and scientific collaboration.
