Exploring Underwater Cultural Heritage – International Workshop in Hungary!
On July 1st, on the occasion of the 5th National Meeting of Archaeological Communities and as part of the CREAMARE project, Pro Progressione hosted a professional event that proved to be enriching and insightful. It was held in Szigetújfalu, Hungary, and brought together archaeologists from seven countries to share their innovative projects and ongoing work in underwater cultural heritage, focusing in particular on freshwater environments (lakes and rivers).
After the presentations, the programme continued with a specializing workshop about gamification, led by Pro Progressione. This methodology, also used in CREAMARE, is an educational tool able to increase awareness of underwater cultural heritage, and make this field of research more accessible and engaging for a wider audience.
The day concluded with a roundtable discussion, where participating archaeologists shared insights on pressing challenges and possible solutions. This open exchange also highlighted new opportunities for collaboration, building a sense of community and shared purpose among the international participants.
