Ministry of Culture, Italy (CREAMARE Project Partner):  It promotes the underwater restoration of endangered assets, as well as the research and enhancement of cultural submerged sites.

Lombardo Shipwreck, Tremiti Islands (Apulia, Italy):  historical vessel built in Venice in 1841 and sunken on the 13th March 1864, after serving the ‘Expedition of the Thousand’ during the Italian Risorgimento, an expedition that led to the unification of Italy.

The remains of the vessel lie on a sandy seabed between 10 and 25 meters below sea level, featuring fragments of copper sheet, a cable duct for the anchor, the winch, various metal remnants of a large paddle wheel, and a massive structure of the ancient steam engine.
